DAT-Schaub was founded in 1893 in Esbjerg, Denmark with only 4 employees cleaning and selecting Danish hog casings.
From the modest start the company grew together with the Danish slaughterhouses expanding throughout the next 120 years. Over the years DAT-Schaub has been active in food trade and food service business, but from 2002 the focus has been on natural and artificial casings, ingredients, packaging and machinery.
Through acquisitions the company has included a large number of other company names. DAT-Schaub’s principle has always been to use the name with the best reputation in the relevant markets. Therefore, several companies acquired by DAT-Schaub still carry or operate under the names they had before the acquisition.
